anyway so via little fault of my own i have unfortunately adopted a magical baby penguin thing from the gate. i know it's not like a regular bird so your knowledge may be limited here but do you think this thing will eat anything that's not fish?
he won't eat anything i try to feed him myself. seems to want to get his own food. so far i've been letting him eat out of the pond at the park and he seems happy with that, but i can't do that forever.
i'm thinking if i leave out a bowl while he's sleeping he'll think he found it on his own but i am NOT leaving fish out in the open, you feel me
so there's these things called foraging toys for birds that you hide food and stuff in for them, keeps them active and shit since pet birds don't get out much. usually it's for seed and berries not fish but you can PROBABLY make something that'll work? unfortunately for you penguins are pretty much seafood only though like this is a magical baby penguin and I know the weird bug I got was fighting a sentient pile of sludge for berries so maybe try berries???
okay, yeah. he DID hatch from an egg from right under a berry bush, so berries might be a good idea.
foraging toys for birds. that sounds doable. i've never exactly had a pet before, much less a magic baby penguin, if that wasn't obvious, so - any particular places i should shop?
i COULD just go "amazon, awayyyy" but if i'm gonna be this little guy's surrogate mom or whatever i should probably TRY to do him right.
I mean for a PENGUIN you might be SOL, go to the zoo and ask some questions about penguins if they have some and see what you can make from that? otherwise yeah no amazon's useful or I can ask the aunts if they know
I mean since you'll be curious about penguins which are damn near impossible to get they're gonna assume curious. just wear a penguin something and stick pins on a bag or carry a backpack with books and a notebook or say you're doing research for a novel or something. trust me the weird shit people ask the Sanctuary...
