This is August. Leave a message and I'll get back to you. Unless you're a jackass who decided to track down my personal info instead of using the business number, in which case fuck you.
all I know is a monk got pissed at the pope and then the royals realized that hey, if they weren't Catholic they could get more taxes and then everything with Mary I of England and Elizabeth I of England and after that I told the teacher I really didn't care could I do my paper on something actually interesting
[Jun starts typing without really thinking about it]
Martin Luther. He and many others had a lot of criticisms towards church mandates and corruption in the papacy. He wrote up these criticisms in a list with 95 points, and nailed it to the church door- triggering the reformation.
The Reformation actually came to England during Henry VII's rule. He wanted to divorce his Catholic wife but the Pope wouldn't let him, so he started the Church of England that he led. He'd go on to have five more wives, and Mary I and Elizabeth I were his daughters who had differing views on the religious direction their country should take.
Yeah, unless I was Anne Boleyn in a past life, I don't think knowing about Henry VIII's relations with the church would count as so traumatic my brain repressed it.
["Jun is typing" appears for awhile as if he's trying to say something, but then he thinks better of it. After holding out on August for so long, Jun hardly has any right to burden him with his problems]
I'm sorry. I'll stop unloading my problems on you. I'm sure I'll figure something out.
I don't mind. I don't know how to help other that letting you panic at me and like. food or letting you talk me into finally watching Magical Girl Alisa but I don't mind.
[He pauses. It's only fair he opens up a little bit, even if he can't share all the details]
When I was younger, having abilities caused a lot of bad things to happen to me. So when I moved to Kaisou with my dad, I tried really hard to live a normal life.
[So. That's why he pretended not to know anything for so long]
and I don't think hanging around me and Julian would be enough for all of that to start happening, either
and if it WAS, why the hell am I not getting any weird shit happening to me? I GREW UP knowing this shit was real and raised Julian from an egg so like

Yeah, but I haven't found anything. Dad's going to check with the churches to see if they know anything.

If you don't have it, I can probably rule out the idea it came from the gate. But that means I'm back to square one to what it is.

I don't want to explain Christianity to Amal.
no subject
god how do you even explain Christianity to people who aren't from here esp because like
explaining it sounds supernatural!! but 99% of the world don't believe in the supernatural! unless it involves God! but only in the past!!
no subject
Yeah I have no idea. I imagine it'd be easier to explain the plot of the Nation Souls series to someone whose never played than explaining all that.
[You know, the game with the disney crossovers you can guess which]

at least NS is all one thing and you might be okay with just Catholicism. but try explaining the Reformation and THAT fuckery

I barely know what went on with the Reformation myself so I'll pass on that.

Why do I know that?

It just popped in my mind like something I knew, but I don't remember studying it anywhere.

Look, I'd agree with that reasoning if I wasn't having visions of priests I've never met before and had a glowing cross show up on my arm.

[There's a pause between messages.]

[He is going to assume Jun does not mean simple bullying. Fucking hells.
(He feels slightly like a jerk but also he couldn't have known that's why Jun kept it a secret.)]
yeah okay that's fair. I would offer to fight someone for you but we all know how that'd go

[It's not even a remark about August's abilities. He doesn't want anyone going near whatever remains of Krusnik]
Other than visiting the gate, I really haven't dabbled into anything paranormal. So I don't know why this is happening to me.
